I Am Absolutely Stoked !

Oh My Gawd! Who knew that I would be this excited about the political process, I have always been one to be involved and well informed, but this year has taken a whole new meaning, I was chosen to move forth on the precinct level to the Senatorial Convention. That was exciting enough, as I awakened myself at 5:30 Saturday morning thinking , do I really want to go to this thing after the fiasco at the local level and waste MY Saturday, I ultimately decided to get myself up and go do what "the people" really entrusted in me to do, and that was enough motivation, that now,I was going to the level of doing something for "others" in my community who trusted me to do the right thing. So I arrived at 7:30, so many people at least 220 precincts in this Senatorial District, so many people, all whom had to sign in and be verified and credentialed. Easy, over 1000 people, sign in completed at about 1:00, then we were able to start the convention, We elected precinct chair again, listened to platforms and proposals to the Texas State Democratic Convention, and then listened to speeches by party leaders and celebrities, ultimately we selected the delegation to go forward to the state convention and then there would only be five selected at the state convention to move forward to the National Convention, chances are nil here, but at least I have made it this far. In its entirety the nominations committees and calculations and credential committees did not finish verifying all delegates until 11:30. I was so exhausted and tired and had not had but a hot dog all day, but, I was so so excited to be apart of this process and cant wait for June, as a professional and educated kinda guy, this has awakened a new sense of due diligence in me...GUESS WHO IS GOING TO STATE CONVENTION??? I am scheduled for Chicago before then, but I will have to work that out ...lol
